With the release of the March 2022 Home Issue, DC Magazine features the JRID Studio as part of a new series in Modern Luxury Interiors Washington, which launches at the end of the year. I am honored to pioneer this new venture and humbled to be selected along with a fine group of peers.
In this Idea Book, the focus is on two recently completed projects. A media room features state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, a dry bar complete with high end appliances, an organized snack pantry and the coziest furnishings. The other space is a formal foyer with a hand-painted mural on the walls, elegant furniture and family photos placed on custom consoles for a proper greeting.
In this 2018 issue, the magazine introduced a new concept and called it the Idea Book. Showcased in this issue is a gorgeous, yet minimalist guest bedroom with a rich, blue wall color. Instead of fussy treatments and furnishings, I used rich textures, woven shades, acrylic, cow hide, gold-leaf, crystal, geodes, raffia and wood combined to create a subtle luxury.
In this March 2016 issue, I took a field trip to a couple of showrooms where I highlighted some exquisite furniture and lighting pieces. It was an exciting day of window shopping and gives a potential client a bit of insight into a day-in-the-life of an interior designer.
In this January 2016 issue, Kitchen Design was the focus and after completing a fabulous new kitchen for a client, I was excited to present this transitional masterpiece. This custom kitchen included all stainless steel appliances, marble and granite counter tops with beveled edges, stunning under cabinet lighting with dimmers and a dazzling chandelier over the clients’ own antique dining table and chairs.
In this July 2015 issue, a brief description of my studio is included along with an editorial piece. A beautiful, new furniture introduction was the object of my desire and I was thrilled to be able to reveal it to the rest of the design world.
